Elected by parish members, the Parish Council are faithful members who devote their personal time and talent to ensure the community’s spiritual needs are met. They oversee the upkeep of the church campus and the financial stability of the parish.
The priest of St. James is head of the Parish Council. He leads the spiritual, administrative and financial activities of the parish.
Andranik Divanyan is the Parish Council Chairman. He's married and has three sons. Andranik works at Sacramento City College in the Information Technology field. His family and he love being part of this great church and community. For them, the Armenian Apostolic church is a way to keep their faith and culture wherever they are.
Sahag Garabedian PhD is currently a semi-retired researcher. After receiving his PhD degree in biology, Sahag worked for Unocal as a research manager and is currently a part-time consultant, mainly on crop disease diagnosis and crop claim cases with lawyers. His hobbies are flying, fishing, and hunting. He enjoys being part of the church and serves as the Parish Council Vice-Chair.
Rosie Danielyan is married and has three sons and three grandchildren. Rosie serves as the secretary of the Parish Council. She works as a tax auditor at EDD. Between full-time work and family, Rosie is pleased to able to serve at St. James.
Agavni Isayan serves as the Treasurer of the Parish Council. She is married and a mother of two. Agavni works full time as an accountant. She dedicates her free time to serve at the church and feels blessed to be able to serve her church and community.
Deacon Ara Kabaklian is married and semi-retired. His been in the food industry for over forty years, ranging from managing distribution centers to managing restaurants. He serves on the Parish Council as an Advisor.
Khachik Varpetyan serves as an advisor on the Parish Council. Khachik is retired and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, who is in the choir, love serving and being part of St. James Armenian Church!
Arsen Petrosyan serves as an advisor on the parish council. Arsen is a local businessman, he's married and has three children. He splits his time between work, family and serving at St. James Armenian Church.
David Ismailyan serves an advisory role on the Parish Council of our beloved St. James Armenian Apostolic Church. He completed his undergraduate coursework at California State University, Sacramento and currently works full time. David enjoys spending time with his wife doing outdoor activities, traveling and woodworking.
Vrezh Darbinyan, was born in Ararat, Armenia. In Armenia, his profession was a kickboxing coach and a woodcarving designer. His married and the father of three children. In the year 2002, he moved to the United States for permanent residency. Currently, he works for Production Framing/Superior Home Services Company as a final detail specialist.
